Fairy Frenzy

The new books this week are all about fairies. The Author of the popular Rainbow Fairies series, Daisy Meadows, has written another series called Animal Magic and we have two of these on the new book stand as well as some of her Rainbow Magic titles. We also have 3 of the new Disney Never Girls series and some books about Emily Feather by the popular author Holly Webb. Remember you can't issue these books yet but you can reserve them.

Welcome back to Russell Street School Hub blog! Well done if you are visiting for the first time. We have lots of NEW displays in the Hub and we would love you to visit before or after school or at lunchtimes to see what we have to offer.

Relax in our NEW magazine section and read some news and reviews posted on the board. Remember that you can issue the 'Wacky but True' magazines in the orange boxes.

                                   

Can you answer the questions in the dinosaur display? Look out for a NEW display in a couple of weeks and if you have a collection or even just one treasure you would like to display please let Rebecca know. Also every couple of weeks we will be offering a craft session based on the current display. See Rebecca if you would like to sign up for the dinosaur session.

                                    

We have loads of NEW books for you so keep an eye on this display and ask if there is a book you are dying to read but you haven't found it in the library yet.

Games in the Hub

We have been having lots of fun in the Hub playing games! Rubiks race has been one of the most successful games! Making patterns and versing each other is one of the things RSS people like to do!

New Books

We have lots of exciting new books coming out onto the shelves this term. The LEGO movie books are already out and about in classrooms and the Minecraft Handbooks will soon be joining them!  There are also some new Bear Grylls books and a great new series by Paul Jennings called 'Don't Look Now'.
If you would like to review a new book or have any requests for future purchases, please come and talk to Rebecca at lunchtime or after school.  Don't forget that the Hub is open before and after school most days as well as lunchtimes so you can return, reserve, borrow or just browse at those times too.

Welcome Back!

Hi there!

What a busy start to the year! We are already half-way through Term 1 and already hundreds of books have been flying off the shelves in the Hub.  We have lots of lovely new books on display each week and children have been reserving these like crazy! Don't forget if you have a new book to try and read it quickly as there is bound to be someone else waiting to read it.
Lunchtimes have also been busy with about 50 children each day enjoying the various activities the Hub has to offer. We have had some new games and puzzles kindly donated and these are starting to be used.
The Hub is also open after school most days for about half an hour so feel free to come and enjoy some of the new books and games, and adults can have a coffee!
